Diana Asaturyan spent 15 years as a nurse before opening Purely Bare Electrolysis in 2022. She trained at the Ohio Electrology Institute in Mansfield, completing more than 600 hours in electrology, anatomy and physiology.
Like many of her clients, she came to electrolysis after years of fighting unwanted hair herself. That's why her studio is quiet, private and unhurried, and why she explains every step before she starts.

Does electrolysis hurt?
Most clients describe a quick warm pinch or a stinging sensation that fades right away. Sensitivity varies by area and by person. We adjust the settings to your comfort, and we can start with a short test area so you know how it feels.
Is it really permanent?
Yes. Each treated follicle is destroyed at the root and cannot grow a new hair. Because hair grows in cycles and hormones can wake up new follicles, it takes a series of visits to catch every hair.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the area, how coarse the hair is, and what caused it. Small areas like the upper lip or chin usually take about 9 to 12 months of regular visits, with sessions getting shorter over time.
Will it work on my gray or blonde hair?
Yes. Electrolysis doesn't rely on pigment, so it works on white, gray, blonde and red hair, which laser usually can't treat.
Is it safe for darker skin?
Yes. Electrolysis is safe for every skin tone and type.
How should I prepare?
Let the hair grow out for 2 to 3 days so it can be seen and grasped. Don't wax, pluck or thread for about 3 weeks before a session. Stay hydrated and skip caffeine the day of your appointment if you're sensitive.
What does my skin look like afterward?
Mild redness or tiny raised spots are normal and usually settle within a few hours to a day. You'll get simple aftercare instructions to follow at home.
Can I do electrolysis after laser?
Yes, and it's one of the most common reasons people come to us. Electrolysis cleans up the light, fine or stubborn hairs that laser left behind.
Who shouldn't have electrolysis?
Let us know if you have a pacemaker or implanted device, are pregnant, have a bleeding disorder, or take isotretinoin (Accutane). Some situations need a doctor's note first; we'll talk it through at your consultation.
